Nickel is a silver-white, hard, corrosion-resistant and shows the ferromagnetism.
Mitsuya has prepared 17 kinds of nickel-plating for utilizing the merits of applying a nickel plating to the products.

Appearance of nickel plating

We can provide the bright nickel plating, semi-bright nickel plating and matte nickel plating. The type of nickel plating is selected by the view point of mechanical properties and bonding activity in addition to the surface appearance.
Furthermore, the elctro black nickel or electroless black nickel plating is used when you need the anti-reflection surface especially.

Diffusion protective layer of nickel plating

A nickel plating plays the role to prevent diffusion of the substrate material or the under-layer plating material into the upper layer.

The uniformity of electroless plating

The electroless nickel plating are applied to deposit on the surface of base metals by a chemical reaction.
It does not require electrical current. The benefit of this process is that electrical flux density fields do not govern the metal plating thickness.
The thickness of electroless nickel plating is uniform even if the surface is complicated shapes.

Heat resistance of nickel plating

For a connection stability under the high temperature environment, cobalt-nickel alloy plating of Mitsuya is selected.

Corrosion resistance of nickel plating

When the phosphorus contains in the nickel, the corrosion resistance of the alloy becomes higher. Nickel-phosphorus alloy can be obtained by electroplating or electroless plating.

Magnetic properties of nickel plating

Normal electro nickel plating is a ferromagnetic material. Electroless nickel plating contains the phosphorus or the boron by the reducing agent.
When these quantities are small plating deposits show a ferromagnetism. As the elements increase (3 ~ 4 wt%), the plating deposit becomes non-magnetic material.
The electrloless nickel plating of non-magnetic material is changed to a ferromagnetic material by the heat treatment. We can introduce the heating vs magnetic characteristic data.

Electrical resistivity of nickel plating

In elctroless nickel-phosphorous plating, the resistivity of deposits is increased by the phosphorous content.
The resisttivity of electroless nickel deposit is decreased by the heating treatment. We can explain the data, which show the relationships of resistivity and the changes of resistivity by the heat treatment.

Coefficient of thermal expansion

We can provide a nickel-iron alloy plating. The nickel-iron alloy has an extremely low coefficient of thermal expansion, known as the Invar.

Hardness of nickel plating

We can offer the electro-nickel-phosphorus, electro-nickel-iron, electroless nickel-phosphorus and electroless nickel-boron as a hard plating.
Electro nickel platings are broadly divided into Watt bath type and sulfamic acid type. The plating deposit from the sulfamic acid type provides the lower hardness, the lower internal stress and the higher ductility.

Lubricity of nickel plating

The electroless nickel with PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) plating composite shows the low friction, water repellency, oil repellency, mold releasing property and wear resistance.
